Friday favorites: gift ideas for him

Happy Friday my friends!

Tonight my parents are coming from Italy to celebrate the Holidays with us, we are all very excited. I have been preparing the kids, telling them that nonno Ezio and nonna Mina will be here, I am always very careful in letting my kids know about upcoming events, because I know that if I get them too excited, then they will start feeling anxious (this happened with Aurora when she was little), but on the other side, if I don`t tell them anything, then they will not be ready when things happen and this is hard especially for Alessandro, who is a very sensitive kid and doesn`t take changes very well. He lives very well with routine and every little change throws him off so much that he will become very nervous for days. We experienced it during our last trip, I made the mistake of not preparing him enough, so the first three days were very hard: lots of tantrums, tears, many many `no`. Then things got a little better because he adjusted to the new place and people. I don`t know if you can relate, or if you have a kid that behaves like that.

The Christmas meringue crostata

Good morning my friends and happy Tuesday!

Do you start feeling the smell of Christmas in the air? The anticipation, the coziness of weekend afternoons spent in front of the fireplace? I do, and last Saturday it got even better because it snowed here in Boston, so all the roofs, trees and the sides of the roads are covered in white: how beautiful! Snow is always magic, I really like it, except when I am home by myself and I have to take care of the shoveling. Snow storms here always happen when my husband is traveling, so it is not really fun for me and this year it is the first Winter we spend in our new house and we have a looong drive way, so either my supermom powers show up very soon, or I don`t think I am going to be able to clean all that heavy snow!

Friday favorites: gifts for the home and for the hostess

Hi friends and happy Friday!

The days and weeks are going by so fast and the feeling that Christmas is getting closer is growing. In the past few days I decorated my house and I bought some new things, since we have a bigger house, we have more room so we need more decorations!

It was so fun to make the Christmas tree with the kids, I feel like this is the first year that the boys fully understand what we are doing and my little elf Alessandro was (and still is) so excited. After we put up the tree and decorated it, he kept running in the room where the tree was, saying “Christmas tree!“. He keeps saying that it is Christmas and gets very excited every time he sees a new decoration in the house!

Friday favorites: December is here!

Hi my friends and happy December!

I apologize for not posting at the beginning of this week, but life has been crazy these past few days, as we got back from our wonderful vacation: we are all still very tired and trying to adjust to our regular routine. It was just a week away, but I feel it was enough to get us a little messed up!

Gift ideas for her under $ 50.00

Good morning friends and happy Friday!

This week I want to give you a little help, so I decided that for the next four weeks I will be giving you ideas about holiday presents: this week will be dedicated to women, then we will have men, kids and home. I would like to give you some ideas that are not too expensive and could be a present for a friend or a `side` present for a bigger gift.

How to keep little kids entertained during a flight

Hi friends!

As you already know, I am getting ready for a trip with my family and this trip includes a flight. It is not my kids` first flight, but the last time we took the boys on an airplane it was over a year and a half ago. We are hoping that now they will be `easier` and we could save our sanity by letting them watch a movie, but I am not completely sure, so I prepared myself with some smart tricks (I hope…).
