Traveling with kids: some tips that work for my family

Hey friends,

Good morning and happy Friday! I am a little late in posting this today, but this week slipped away from me and just yesterday I realized that the post was not ready to be published!

I hope you had a great week and are getting ready for a great weekend!

After getting adjusted after our little trip to Las Vegas two weeks ago, I needed last week to get used back to the routine and setup the new routine of afternoon activities, homework, doctors appointments. This past week went pretty smoothly and I am back here talking to you about some tips regarding traveling with kids.

My boys` nighttime routine

Good morning my friends and happy Friday!

Are you happy that the weekend is almost here? I am very excited, first of all because my husband is home after being away for 10 days. After his 10 days trip he came home for one day and a half and left for another two days, so I can`t wait to spend the weekend all together! He actually planned to go skiing with Aurora this Saturday, but I am secretly hoping that he won`t be able to go (because it is going to be too warm tomorrow). The second reason why I am happy is that the temperatures have risen, it is going to be warm (not for long though, but I enjoy it as much as I can when it looks like Spring here!!).

Friday favorites: gift ideas for him

Happy Friday my friends!

Tonight my parents are coming from Italy to celebrate the Holidays with us, we are all very excited. I have been preparing the kids, telling them that nonno Ezio and nonna Mina will be here, I am always very careful in letting my kids know about upcoming events, because I know that if I get them too excited, then they will start feeling anxious (this happened with Aurora when she was little), but on the other side, if I don`t tell them anything, then they will not be ready when things happen and this is hard especially for Alessandro, who is a very sensitive kid and doesn`t take changes very well. He lives very well with routine and every little change throws him off so much that he will become very nervous for days. We experienced it during our last trip, I made the mistake of not preparing him enough, so the first three days were very hard: lots of tantrums, tears, many many `no`. Then things got a little better because he adjusted to the new place and people. I don`t know if you can relate, or if you have a kid that behaves like that.

The Christmas meringue crostata

Good morning my friends and happy Tuesday!

Do you start feeling the smell of Christmas in the air? The anticipation, the coziness of weekend afternoons spent in front of the fireplace? I do, and last Saturday it got even better because it snowed here in Boston, so all the roofs, trees and the sides of the roads are covered in white: how beautiful! Snow is always magic, I really like it, except when I am home by myself and I have to take care of the shoveling. Snow storms here always happen when my husband is traveling, so it is not really fun for me and this year it is the first Winter we spend in our new house and we have a looong drive way, so either my supermom powers show up very soon, or I don`t think I am going to be able to clean all that heavy snow!

Friday favorites: December is here!

Hi my friends and happy December!

I apologize for not posting at the beginning of this week, but life has been crazy these past few days, as we got back from our wonderful vacation: we are all still very tired and trying to adjust to our regular routine. It was just a week away, but I feel it was enough to get us a little messed up!
