Hi friends, happy Friday!
How was your first week of April? I am very excited because April is my favorite month of the year, to me it means Spring, warm weather (in my head, even though I always have to remind myself that I don`t live in Italy and Spring here starts a little later!!) and… my birthday!! I am very excited and I am already planning how to celebrate it!
Anyway, we had a lot to do this week: I am planning an Easter party for my kids and I am also getting things ready for an upcoming trip that we will take soon. I am trying to understand what Summer clothes from last year still fit my kids but it is hard to ask two 4 year old boys to stay still while they try on clothes, it must look like some kind of punishment to them! So do you know what I started doing? I pick the t shirt that they should try on and one t shirt that I know fits them and I compare them: if it is too small, it will be put away and if it is the right size, it is piled in `Summer clothes`!
Today I want to talk to you about some random things that I recently got on Amazon. I shop a lot on Amazon (come on, who doesn`t love Amazon Prime?!). I often buy things even though I am not 100% sure and then return them, it is so easy and convenient! So, looking at my recent purchases I noticed that some things are very cute, some are very random and some are real gems, so today I want to share them with you:
I got this romper a few weeks ago and I love it! I love the stripe pattern, the fact that it is not too tight on my belly (always a problematic area!!) and how it looks in general. I tried some other jumpsuits (long and short) that I got from Amazon and they would not look cute on me, or at least they did on the front but not on the back, they would look weird because they would cut my waist in a higher position. This looks really nice, as I said, there is enough fabric to conceal the belly and it is not too short, I will definitely bring it with me to our trip! I ordered one size up because my regular size Medium felt a little too tight and short. The only thing I have to test is how not practical it is when I have to go to the bathroom… I will report back!!
I wanted to get a maxi dress, I did not want something too dressy and at the same time I wanted the fabric to be right, not too clingy and thin but not too thick. I think this dress looks very nice on, it is not tight, it is perfect for everyday use, especially if you make a knot on the bottom and make it a little shorter. I just have to test that the neckline is not too deep, I got a size medium, but I think that a smaller size would have worked too because it is oversized!
3-PLANT BASED PROTEIN POWDER ($ 32.50):
I have been buying these proteins for a while, both me and my husband use them to make smoothies in the morning. He drinks a protein smoothie every day, which is perfect for him because he never used to have breakfast! Now I just have to sneak in some spinach when he is not watching to make his smoothie even healthier! We like the chocolate flavor and this brand is one of the best tasting one. We tried some other brands that would give us a stomach ache or would just taste awful. I usually prepare my smoothie with a small piece of frozen banana and spinach, some ice, some flax seeds, a teaspoon of coconut oil, coffee and a dash of almond extract (which gives it an amazingly good flavor!).
4-MAGNETIC PHONE CAR MOUNT ($ 7.99):
My friends Silvia and Chicco suggested this small device to me and I think it works very well. It uses a magnet that has to be inserted in your phone cover and then it attaches to the base that is inserted into the car air vent: genious! The magnet is pretty strong and holds the phone very well. I saw it in action on Silvia`s car and I was sold! I haven`t tried mine yet, but I think it will work very well. It comes with two magnets, so I have one and my husband has the second one, his phone is the iphone plus though and it seems a little heavy to be held by the magnet, but we have to test it!
I got this brush last week and I can say that I love it! Since my old brush broke I got a replacement but it was not good for me. The bristles were too short and I have a lot of thick hair, so it was not brushing it properly. This one is perfect, it is made of wood and the bristles are very long, so it brushes my hair perfectly in a few seconds.
6-BIODEGRADABLE DOG POOP BAGS (AMAZON, $ 15.99):
This is very random, but since Platone poops two times a day, I realized that I was using a lot of plastic for him, so I started looking for something more eco friendly. I found some bags at TJ Maxx, but they don`t always carry them, so I started searching Amazon and I found these, they are even scented and work great. Now I just hope that they are really eco friendly!
7-ORGANIC BEESWAX WRAPS ($ 16.99):
My husband and I started thinking of ways to reduce our waste in the house a while ago, especially in the kitchen. One thing that I noticed was that I was using was plastic wrap (even if it was not too much, because I usually use containers to store food). So when I saw a lady on Instagram (her name there is Nesting with Grace) talking about these bees wax coated covers I was really curious and ordered them. If I have to be completely honest, I don`t think they work really great, especially if you are trying to have them stick to plastic, but they are very good on glass and ceramic and I think it is a very small price to pay if I want to get rid of some plastic that surrounds us!
I have to say that I am not very good in taking care of real plants in my house, but I love to see them growing and blooming, so I have some of them. Our babysitter Heidi takes care of them, she always remembers to water them (she is not like me!) and suggested to buy some plant food, so I got these sticks from Amazon. They are perfect because they get stuck into the soil and you don`t have to remember to change them before six months, which is a lot!!
9-NUTPODS, VARIETY PACK ($ 11.95):
I might have talked to you about these, but I love them so much that they are worth mentioning again. I started using them when I followed a diet for a month, which required to give up all dairy products, so I purchased these thinking that they would taste awful in my coffee. I have to say, I like them a lot, they are non dairy and they don`t contain any sugar (which is perfect because I am trying to reduce my sugar intake). They give the coffee a slight coconut flavor, which I love. My favorite flavor is the hazelnut and I like them so much that I have been using them for a while now, even when I am not on a dairy free diet.
10-LONG SLEEVE SHIRT ($18.00):
I use these kind of long shirts a lot in Winter under my sweaters. I love this one because it is not too tight, it doesn`t cling to your body, it is long and flowy so it would be perfect to be worn with leggings. I always put it in the washer and dryer and it is still in good conditions, it is very soft and not made of polyester, so I really recommend it! I think it comes in multiple colors too!
