It`s Halloween!

Hi everyone and happy Halloween!

Halloween is here and we have already been to a Halloween parade last Saturday morning, a Halloween birthday party in the evening, we hosted a Halloween party on Sunday, we went to Aurora`s school to see her parade this morning and we are going trick or treating in the evening. It`s been pretty busy, but the kids are so happy! (I was not as happy when I realized how many candies they had during the weekend…).

Alessandro was dressed up like a skeleton for the parade and insisted on taking with him Aurora`s pink stroller!

I wanted to explain a little and show you what we did for our Halloween party last Sunday. As you may have understood by now, I like to organize parties, I like to decorate the house and cook themed food (Thanks Pinterest, I love you!). So for this party I sent out the invitations to the kids` friends through Evite. I feel a little old telling this to you, but it was the first time I used it. I tended to order customized birthday party invitation on Etsy and then print them by myself, but this year I didn`t have much time since I didn`t plan everything a long time ago (not really a supermom, I know!) and I kept receiving invitations from Evite, so I decided it was time to give it a try. I created two invitations: one for the boys` friends and one for Aurora`s friends. I liked it so much, very quick and easy and I got all the rsvps via email, so nice!! I will definitely use it again for parties to come!

With the help of Gabri (my husband) I decorated the house with Halloween garlands, pumpkins, lights, spider webs and orange and black balloons. We had themed party supplies and food: pizza mummies, hot dog mummies, witch`s eyeballs, witches fingers, chocolate bats and a popcorn cake. I always have a lot of fun cooking themed food.

Platone was waiting for the guests to welcome them!

Chips, cheese and prezels
Witches fingers, pumpkin chocolate cookies, chocolate bats and popcorn cake

These were my favorites!

Last week I prepared the goodie bags (brown little bags on which I glued a black bat that I printed from a free template) containing a little transparent bag with twix and with an oval card outside saying `Twix or treat`, a chocolate bar covered in white crepe paper, so that it looked like a mummy, a pencil, a stencil and a tattoo (everything was Halloween themed). I found the ideas on Pinterest of course!

Aurora`s friends had a lot of fun chasing each other and running up and down the stairs while screaming like crazy (I didn`t expect little girls to be so loud!), the boys with their three friends played downstairs with cars, trains and legos. We prepared some games, but no one was interested in them, so we let them entertain themselves: easier for us (I have to admit though that we sent the boys downstairs, with the hope that some other parents would check them for us! Again, not really a supermom, but in my defense, I had to check everything else upstairs and I had to keep an eye on the crazy daughter running around!).

Tonight the celebration will finish with the trick or treating and we will get more candies… (I am planning on donating them to people who collect them to send them to troops overseas).

Have a great Halloween everyone and I will meet you here on Friday!

Anna
