Friday favorites: hair

Good morning friends, happy Friday and happy March!

It`s finally Friday, the end of a looong week, I don`t know why but this week felt endless. Anyway, we are in March and this means that we are getting closer to Spring. I am not sure if we can already talk about Spring here in New England, because it is usually cold until end of April, but every year I hope that we will get an early Spring… a girl can dream, right?

Today I wanted to talk to you about hair and my 5 favorite hair products of the moment. I love my hair and I like to take care of it because like everything, it needs to be cleaned, hydrated and styled.  I have a lot of hair and after I dry it with the hairdryer it has a lot of volume (in order to understand, you can picture a lion`s head!!), so I am always looking at conditioning, hydrating, fizz control products.

Let`s get started, these are the products that I am using at the moment and that I am liking a lot. (In order to be clear, I would like to remind you that I get commissions for purchases made through links in this post) :

-THE BODY SHOP, GINGER SHAMPOO ($ 14.00):

I have been using this product for a while now and the reason why I found it is that a while ago I started noticing that the scalp on my temples was becoming very dry, it was itchy and I had some scales. I don`t know what happened, but I think that I was washing my hair too often (every day, because It was Summer and I was doing a very hard cardio workout that left me tired and sweaty!!). Anyway, I decided to switch to a more natural, gentle shampoo to see if it would solve my problem and it did, my scalp feels much better. The shampoo is gentle, cleans the hair very well even if I use a little because it makes a nice foam, so I don`t have to use a ton! I really recommend it if you have a flaky, itchy scalp. I also like it because it is paraben, sulfate and cruelty free.

You can find this product at the body shop or if you are lazy like me and have an Amazon Prime subscription, you can find it on Amazon!

-PANTENE REPAIRING HAIR MASK ($ 7.99):

I bought this mask because again, it is free of all those nasty chemicals and because It contains argan oil, I wanted something to condition and hydrate my hair and I think this mask works very well. I usually wash my hair first thing as I get in the shower, so that I can use this mask and leave it on while I wash myself and exfoliate. The cream detangles the hair and leaves it nice and soft. I use it once a week and for the other times when I wash my hair I use the conditioner of the same line, which I think works very well too. Another conditioner that I just found out, because I think it is pretty new, is a foam conditioner that I particularly love when I don`t have much time. I have to say, it doesn`t detangle very well, it takes a little more than the conditioner I mentioned above, but this is so easy to wash away, it takes less than one minute and you are done, the hair is perfectly rinsed! And I really love its mousse consistency.

You can find all the three products very easily at grocery stores and drugstores or on Amazon.

-REVLON UNIQONE ALL IN ONE HAIR TREATMENT ($ 9,85):

I use this product to protect my hair from heat when I know that I am going to use a flat iron on my hair or if I am going to curl it (I am trying to understand how to do soft waves, but it is so hard and it takes too long, so I usually stick to my flat iron!). I like the smell of this spray a lot, but it is a little strong and persists on your hair, so if you are very sensitive to smells, or you don`t like to smell perfume on your hair, I wouldn`t suggest it for you. I noticed that when I use this product, the hair is styled better and stays in place for longer. If I spray it before drying my hair and then I make a braid (because I don`t have time to straighten it), when I take the braid off, the hair will be wavy and will stay wavy even the following day!! (and no, I don`t like those kind of waves because it makes my hair too voluminous, lion style!!).

CAVIAR ANTI AGING CC CREAM ($ 26.00):

I love this hair cream. First of all the smell: it is so good, it smells like lemon, like something fresh, but it is very subtle, not too strong, it will stay on your hair like a light scent. It helps a lot to defizz and hydrate my hair, but the most amazing thing that I noticed is that it reduces the time I take to hair dry it. I am not sure how it does it, but it works!

This cream is pretty pricey, but I think it is worth it. You can find it at Sephora or Ulta or on Amazon!

INVISIBOBBLE HAIR RINGS ($ 8.00):

I got these hairbands from my mom, who got them in Italy before they became so popular, or at least before I realized they were so popular. I love them, because they stretch a lot but then will go back to their original shape and because they don`t pull your hair when you take them away. You can easily find them at Sephora or on Amazon, but I guess you might be able to find them ad drugstores too. They come in many different colors, so you can pick your favorite, I have the brown and black ones and I love them!

For my Italian friends, the brand of the ones I own that were purchased in Italy is Rolling strings by Ricki Parodi.

Ok guys, this is it for today. Let me know if you use some of these products or if you have any great products that you would like to suggest.

Have a great weekend and I will meet you here next week!

Anna
